From a suggestion by Daniele Rosa, Luiss press commissioned us to create an animated short film inspired by Helga Nowotny’s essay β€œIn AI We Trust: Power, Illusion and Control of Predictive Algorithms.” The writer’s own voice takes us on a journey to understand how algorithms are changing our view of the world and makes us realize that the consequences in blindly relying on them will lead the future to close in on us, giving rise to algorithmic prophecies that we ourselves make come true. The Robotina duo handled the entire project, from writing the adaptation inspired by the philosophical concepts expressed in the text to creating the abstract visual world made of predictive algorithms where the protagonistΒ HelgaΒ travels.
